By Mike Johnson · Updated Oct 28, 20264 min read
Short answer

Apple rates the iPhone Duo at up to 24 hours of typical use. Video playback lasts longer on the outer screen than the inner one: up to 44 hours versus 31. The phone has two batteries, one in each half, and charges to about 50% in 20 minutes with a 60 W or higher USB-C adapter.

Charging

  • Wired: about 50% in 20 minutes with a 60 W or higher USB-C power adapter, per Apple.
  • Wireless: MagSafe and Qi2, both up to 25 W.
  • In the box: a USB-C cable only; no power adapter.

Two batteries

There's a battery in each half of the phone. Apple hasn't published the combined capacity.

What reviewers found

Independent battery comparisons are starting to appear. Tom's Guide ran a battery test against Samsung's foldable and the iPhone 18 Pro Max (video). We'll summarize published results here as more reviews post them, and add our own notes after a few weeks of everyday use.

Getting more from the battery

  • Use the outer screen for quick tasks; Apple's figures show longer video playback on the outer screen.
  • Check Settings › Battery for which apps use the most power.
